The Invite: A new look
The Invite delivered another outstanding day of high school basketball at Calvin University this past weekend. I hope you enjoyed the more traditional print coverage I provided on this and other websites.
While I don’t publicize it much and largely attempt to keep the operations separate. I also have media role as a broadcaster. Working for various radio stations and steaming services. If that interests you at all, that business is called HG Sports Media and can be found on Facebook.
I do these jobs because I enjoy sports. I also hope I am helping kids with exposure and achieving their college objectives. As a former educator this remains an important goal in my life. Here’s another little secret…. it’s a lot a fun!
Towards that measure, as we approach the start of a new year. I’ve taken baby steps to merge the broadcasting and writing together and add a little “fun” to my coverage.
I’ve decided to join the 21st century and start a YouTube channel. I use that word loosely, because as you will see below. I really don’t have much of a clue of what I am doing.
I’m in my mid 40’s and I have a face made for radio. I don’t have a ten step business model. I don’t know the difference between a thumbnail and a hangnail. But I did have fun putting this together— with a lot of help from people much younger than me.
Like all the cool kids say. Like, rate, review, and subscribe. Still not entirely sure of what that means. But I’m told it’s important. No guarantees, the video below could be a one-of-one. Or it could be the first of many.
